Ebike Centres, in association with ‘The Breeze Network’ and British Cycling, are pleased to announce an electric bike ‘ebike ride’ from Abbey Park in Leicester to Thrussington tea shop on Saturday 21 September 2013, starting at 10.00am.
The ride will be led by a ‘Breeze Champion’. The amazing Breeze Champions organise fun, social, local bike rides for women. Rides go at a speed that suits everyone, and they often start or finish at a cafe so everyone can have a drink and a chat.
This electric bike ride is the first of its kind and will cover a distance of approximately 23 miles (11.5 miles each way). It is specifically aimed towards women with electric bikes who would like to go for a fun, leisurely ride in good company but at a pace which is suitable for ebikes.
At Thrussington there will be a stop at the tea shop for tea, cream cakes and a chat before setting off for the return ride.
This route is scenic and quite undulating. We will pass through Syston, Barsby, Gaddesby, Rearsby. There’s an opportunity to stop in Thrussington for a cup of tea and a cake before heading back home through Sileby, Cossington and Rothley.
It’s a good idea to bring some water, a snack to keep you going and money for a drink when we stop for a break.
Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.
Breeze really welcomes newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind.
Please Note: This ride is suitable for electric bikes only. There is a maximum of 16 participants on this ride so please reserve your place in advance.
Look forward to seeing you there!
