A perfect day out by electric bike
Yesterday’s monthly electric bike tour into the Leicestershire countryside turned out to be the best yet.
Leaving Leicester along the Great Central Way as far as Blaby, we picked up the Guthlaxton Trail through Countesthorpe. The uphill stretch to Willoughby Waterlees was rewarded by an exhilarating downhill through quiet countryside to the hamlet of Peatling Magna.
Having covered just over half of our 25 mile route we rewarded ourselves with a pint in the sunshine outside the traditional Cock Inn, before taking the country lanes back through Countesthorpe and South Wigston to Leicester.
All agreed it was a perfect day out, and the best way to enjoy a summer’s day in the country.
