Are electric bikes waterproof?
We are often asked by customers if electric bikes are waterproof, especially in the winter.
The answer is yes. Of course it is not a good idea to throw them in the river, but under normal conditions you should have no problem in the rain.
If you are cycling a lot in the rain then, like an ordinary bike, we recommend ensuring that your moving parts (not your brakes!) are kept lubricated and free from dirt. If you will be leaving your electric bike outside in the rain for long periods of time it would do no harm to tie an electric bag around your controller and the battery connections to protect them.
