1. The Seaside and South Downs
EastbourneThis path follows the idyllic hills that run from Eastbourne, through Brighton to Winchester. Many parts of the route and inaccessible by motorhome, but many areas can be reached using bike trails – and with an electric bike almost anything is possible! The route travels above Beachy Head, the highest chalk cliff on the south coast. Expect fantastic sea views. You can even wave bonjour to France!

2. All around the Forest of Dean
This stunning forest has quiet cycle paths running throughout as well as spectacular mountain views. The route is hilly, but you have your ebike to take the strain. You will be rewarded with a breath-taking view of the Welsh mountains over a horizon of pine.

3. The Central Pennines
This route has a variety of scenery and feels like a classic adventure. The area is beautiful, especially if you’re a fan of dark hills and sombre moors. It’s also well used because a lot of people live around it. It is extremely popular with cyclists, some of the very best in fact, because British Cycling’s Manchester HQ is close by.

4. Fordingbridge to Brockenhurst
Cycling
There are many rides that go all the way around the New Forest. This one connects them all and gives an overall picture of the range of territory in the forest. You will see the sandy Hampton Ridge, with far-flung views to the north, ride through deep forests, quaint rivers and open glades to the south. This exciting and varied route ends at The Foresters Arms pub in Brockenhurst, where you can get yourself a well-deserved drink and grub.

5. King’s Lynn to Snettisham
This scenic route explores the country of west Norfolk, starting at King’s Lynn. On the way you will see a historic medieval port and the attractive village of Castle Rising where you can stop off for a pub break. You will also pass through the beautiful Sandringham Country Park and the RSPB’s Snettisham reserve; be prepared for tens of thousands of wading birds. Finish your route at the highly recommended Old Bank Coffee Shop in Snettisham.

Remember – most routes are shared by both pedestrians and cyclists. Show respect and give notice if approaching from behind – many electric bikes are almost silent. And exercise caution around horses so as not to surprise them.

All motorhomes are not the same – and neither are electric bikes…
